What to Pack

A focused packing guide for horseback and overland trips—designed for 
ease and adventure in both town and country.

Riding

This packing list will prepare you for your outdoor adventure in both town and country. Hotel laundry is available, but plan on two to three changes of clothes for the camping portion. Everything below covers the essentials for our horseback and Taiga trips.

Bags

Duffle Bag Weight allowance up to 7 kg (15.4 lbs) for horseback trips. Your duffle will be carried by horse or vehicle and won’t be accessible until evening.


Daypack Lightweight with compression straps and side mesh pockets. Perfect for rainwear, camera, sunscreen, snacks, water, passport, and other daily essentials.

Clothing

Underwear Moisture-wicking sports underwear or bras designed for high-intensity activity.


Shirts Four to seven breathable, quick-dry shirts—mix of short and long sleeves, depending on trip length.


Riding Pants Reinforced knee patches for comfort in the saddle.


Fleece Jacket Lightweight warmth for chilly evenings (e.g., The North Face, Patagonia).


Insulated Jacket Windproof, waterproof, and highly insulated (e.g., The North Face Nuptse or equivalent).


Hard-Shell Jacket & Rain Gear Waterproof shell plus a compact poncho or rain suit.


Sun Hat Wide-brim or neck-cover style that packs flat and dries quickly.


Beanie or Headband Fleece-lined for cold mornings and nights at higher elevations.


Riding Gloves Lightweight, quick-dry for reins; consider a warm, waterproof pair for colder rides.

Footwear

Riding Boots or Shoes Smooth, sturdy sole for stirrups; break them in before departure.


Half Chaps Leather or heavy-fabric leg protection


Casual Footwear Trekking shoes, trainers, or sandals for camp and downtime.


Socks Moisture-wicking liners plus enough mid-weight and thermal pairs for cold nights.

Sleeping Gear

Sleeping Bag Mummy-shape with hood, two-way zipper, cold-weather rating.


Sleeping pad.

This packing list covers both town and countryside on your overland adventure. Clothing is informal but modest—hotel and ger camp laundry services are available, so plan for two to three changes of clothes.

Money Belt or Pouch Wear under clothing or use a discreet pocket to secure cash, passport, and valuables.

Dry Bags & Ziploc Bags Protect clothing and gear from dust and moisture inside your main luggage.
